had a swim, had lunch and I took a few pictures. Then I wrote a review of the island. It was one of those reviews
you read where the writer does not know much about the place so he adds a little humor to cover up his ignorance,
harping on the same topic to fill up space. One day I got an e-mail from Bryan, the owner of the Agistri club,
which disected my article bit by bit and pointed out that real travel writers spend a little more time researching
before subjecting the world to their wisdom or lack of. (Not exactly his words). By coincidence the Agistri Club
was mentioned to me two years before by my friend Nikos who loves the place and urged me to visit and write about
it. In fact I would have visited it that day except it was on another part of the island and both my wife and daughter
were jet-lagged and complaining and did not want to be anywhere but in the water. So I swallowed my pride and asked
him if he would like to be on my pages and be visited by hordes of informed travelers. Why not? There are worse
things in life that can happen to a hotel owner. So he is on my site even though I have yet to visit his hotel.
But it sounds like a fun place as these testimonials will show you. Dear Harriet and Bryan, We are now back home, but wish we were not. Seven days is too short, especially if they are so packed with events as these were. It was a fantastic stay - thank you very, very much for taking so good care of us! Love to all and everybody from Hi Brian, yet again a fabulous holiday. Thank you all for a relaxing and wonderful time. Hello Bryan! Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time at the Agistriclub. Stayed at a superb place in Agistri, an island about an hour off from Pireaus the main port for Athens. Just fly into Athens, an hour's bus ride from the airport and then and onto a catamaran and there you are in Paradise! We stayed at a place called the Agistri club, fully entertained and looked after by the Welsh wizard Brian and his lovely partner Harriet. Unusual for the Greek islands these people take a very personal approach in looking after you, especially in their restaurant. The main beach is really sandy and shallow, ideal for old people like me and kids. If it's sun, sand and a quiet life you’re after I cannot recommend this enough! Magic. Kind regards, Steve Penney.
